Fashion in Motion is a series of live fashion events presented against the unique backdrop of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Featuring some of the greatest designers of our time, Fashion in Motion brings the excitement and spectacle of the high fashion catwalk to a wide audience.

Ipswich-born designer Craig Lawrence studied at Central St Martins and whilst there created knitted pieces for Gareth Pugh over six seasons. On graduating in 2009, Lawrence established his eponymous label with the support of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN programme and rapidly became known for his innovative work in the field of knitwear. His sophisticated, playful and elegant collections are remarkable for their craftsmanship and individuality.

Lawrence uses unlikely and varied materials such as sweet wrappers, gold foil, bin bags and Kyototex - a Japanese metallic covered yarn - which has been used in every one of his collections. Devotees of his designs include Tilda Swinton, Lady Gaga and Björk. Earlier this year, Lawrence was awarded a place on the Centre for Fashion Enterprise’s Venture Programme.

Zulu Winter

Managed to catch North London indie rock band Zulu Winter playing at a beach party whilst in France. I’d only heard one or two of their tracks before but their performance definitely impressed. I’m now a fan. Even better they’ve got heaps of music to listen to online, so go listen!

Hangover Party, Cannes

Something I experienced for the first time this week was a ‘hangover party’. After five days of huge events at the ad festival everyone wanted a day to chill, so we made our way up to a villa to be greeted by doctors, angels, and some amazing cocktail waiters. A display of healthy foods, refreshing drinks and a dip in the pool was the best hangover cure ever. Not sure if it would work quite the same in England but we should probably start giving it a go. Or just take some Tropicana down to London Fields lido.

Cannes Advertising Festival 2012

Last night was the beginning of a string of sleepless nights and free bars surrounding the advertising festival in the south of France. The opening party was a heavy but sophisticated start to the week, with an array of canapes and an endless flow of champagne. Tonight is the Massive Music party which is said to be the biggest and best dance event of the whole festival- pictures to come!

Nike Air Max 1 2012 

Another, and possibly one of my favourite colour way sets to date. Nike will release the newest additions to the Air Max legacy later this year followed by womans leopard set in the fall. After coming to terms with the fact I may never have the pleasure of owning the Yeezy 2, I may get all of these just to fill the void.
